"Schnall Ball" has landed in Columbia! Here's your very first chance to hear from new University of South Carolina head baseball coach, Kevin Schnall. After spending more than two decades at Coastal Carolina, the 2025 Baseball America College Coach of the Year takes over for the Gamecocks, ready to compete in the SEC. In his first appearance as Carolina's new skipper, Schnall shares his philosophy on hitting, the transfer portal, and why now was the right time to make the move to USC.

🔺 Familiar Foes. South Carolina women’s basketball now knows which SEC opponents will be coming to Colonial Life Arena next season! The Gamecocks will host Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma. The SEC slate begins on Dec. 31.

🔺 Big Addition. Gamecock men’s basketball has signed Juan Fernandez, a 6-11 forward from Santa Fe, Argentina. He recently played in Spain’s Liga ACB, bringing international experience that includes a silver medal at the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup.

🔺 Struck Gold. Incoming women’s basketball freshman Kelsi Andrews helped the United States win its 12th-straight gold at the FIBA U-18 AmeriCup. She averaged 6.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in the tournament.

🔺 Showtime. South Carolina baseball alum Brett Kerry was called up by the Los Angeles Angels! He becomes the 62nd Gamecock to reach the Major Leagues. He went 3-3 with 59 strikeouts in 62.1 innings for the Salt Lake Bees this season. Kerry joins former teammate TJ Shook as Gamecocks who have been called up this season.
