"Schnall Ball" has landed in Columbia! Here's your very first chance to hear from new University of South Carolina head baseball coach, Kevin Schnall. After spending more than two decades at Coastal Carolina, the 2025 Baseball America College Coach of the Year takes over for the Gamecocks, ready to compete in the SEC. In his first appearance as Carolina's new skipper, Schnall shares his philosophy on hitting, the transfer portal, and why now was the right time to make the move to USC.

🔺 Teaming Up. Two South Carolina track & field duos have been selected as finalists for the 2026 SEC Start Up: A Student-Athlete Pitch Competition! Ricky Circelli and Logan Hill are pitching Varsity Stack, an app that helps athletes take the right supplements at the right time with personalized plans. Carlos Lanzagorta-Ruiz and Parker Samuelson will pitch Earth Goo, natural, single-serve pre- and post-workout energy gels designed to give athletes convenient and stomach-friendly fueling and recovery on the go.

Finalists are spending today and tomorrow filming the competition in Birmingham. The show will air on July 20 at 7 p.m. on SEC Network.

🔺 Thank You, Steve. South Carolina’s Senior Associate Athletics Director for Communications and Public Relations, Steve Fink, is retiring after 21 years at South Carolina. He notes that he’ll miss the relationships, game days, and the excitement of being part of the team. Fink looks forward to spending more time with his family and is open to occasional returns to the press box.

🔺 On Fire. Former Gamecock Sania Feagin has been signed to a developmental contract with the WNBA’s Portland Fire! She was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks in the second round of the 2025 WNBA Draft.
