🔺 Roaring Start. Former Gamecock women’s soccer star Cat Barry picked up where she left off in her professional career! She earned the Golden Boot Award with the Lexington (KY) Sporting Club after leading the Gainbridge Super League with 17 goals. Her team won the regular season title last Saturday as she had the game-tying assist in the championship game.

“In the SEC, every game is a battle. That contributed to my mentality of having to show up every day and be ready. You’re playing some of the best competition in the country. It’s such a competitive league and you have to play a tough game and wake up the next day to prepare for the next one. Playing pro is very much like that. At South Carolina, our coaching staff, and the environment we built from a culture standpoint in giving you everything you had every single day prepared me for that.”

🔺 Academic All-Stars. South Carolina student-athletes ended the spring semester with a departmental GPA of 3.426, the fifth-highest semester departmental GPA in program history! This marks the department’s 39th consecutive semester with a departmental GPA above 3.0. Women’s tennis led the department with a 3.813 GPA.
