Gamecocks Access: THE Columbia — The Mayor's Cup returned to Columbia, South Carolina last fall! It was a wild finish to a back-and-forth top-25 SEC matchup that had just about everything. The Gamecocks broke the streak against Missouri and notched their third consecutive win over an AP ranked opponent. Let's look back at all the highlights with Todd Ellis and Tommy Suggs.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Big League Bound. Gamecock baseball’s Ethan Petry was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the second round of last night’s MLB Draft. He leaves South Carolina at No. 2 on the all-time home run list with 54 through his three-year career. The draft continues today.

🔺 International Gamecocks. Two incoming women’s basketball freshmen are repping the Gamecocks internationally! Agot Makeer is representing Canada and Ayla McDowell is representing Brazil in the FIBA U19 Women’s World Cup. All games will stream live on the FIBA YouTube Channel.

🔺 Coast To Coast. Women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley took a trip to Golden State to learn more about the WNBA’s newest team, the Golden State Valkyries.

🔺 Schedule’s Set. The South Carolina equestrian team announced their 2025-26 schedule! The season kicks off at home against SMU and includes a home/away series with all three SEC schools. The Gamecocks aim to build on their successful 2024-25 season, which included an SEC Tournament title and an appearance in the NCEA semifinals.
