🎥 THE STORY

The Story: Fire Proof — Test after test, the 2024 Gamecock football team battled through adversity and grew stronger each week. We look back as South Carolina looked to take down Missouri for the first time since 2018, and keep their playoff dreams alive. After getting knocked down, when the lights were the brightest, the stars made plays. Both Jalon Kilgore and Dalevon Campbell came through in the clutch and proved this team was living up to their new mantra. They were fire proof.

🔺 Rydqvist Repeats. Four-time All-American women’s golfer Louise Rydqvist won the 2025 Edith Cummings Munson Golf Award for the second-straight year! She becomes the fifth student-athlete to receive the award multiple times since 1989. She award goes to the student-athlete who is an upper classman and both a WGCA All-American Scholar and a WGCA All-American.

🔺 Academic Excellence. Gamecock baseball earned the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award! They earned the honor for maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year. The Gamecocks placed 14 student-athletes on the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll and 16 on the SEC’s First-Year Academic Honor Roll.

🔺 She’s An All-Star. Former Gamecock pitcher Alana Vawter will participate in the 2025 AUSL All-Star Cup, August 2-31. This a four-series season in which 60 professional softball players will compete to become the individual champion using Athletes Unlimited’s format. The games will be played in Holly Springs, North Carolina.
