🎥 THE VAULT

The Vault: South Carolina vs. Georgia (1988) — Watch the highlights from September 24, 1988 when the Gamecocks beat the Georgia Bulldogs 23-10. Notable Players: Gamecock legend and current broadcaster, Todd Ellis, called the plays for his junior season in 1988. One of the most graceful and versatile athletes in school history, wide receiver Robert Brooks came along at a period of air-it-out offense and superior playmakers – yet still made his mark right away. Brooks’ grace can be seen as a freshman against the Bulldogs in 1988 when he made a beautiful one handed catch for a 36 yard touchdown. Three of the other 23 points scored that day against the Bulldogs came from the leg of Collin Mackie. Mackie is one of the most prolific specialists in school history, sitting third on the record list for career points scored with 330 points scored.

🔺 Maxed Out. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers has been named to the Maxwell Award Watch List! The award is presented to the College Player of the Year in honor of Robert “Tiny” Maxwell. Semifinalists for the award will be announced on November 11.

🔺 Sweet Home Carolina. Veteran college football coach Geoff Collins has joined the Gamecock staff as a senior defensive assistant coach! He recently served as North Carolina’s defensive coordinator after spending four years as the head coach at Georgia Tech.

🔺 Title Town. Gamecock women’s basketball’s Joyce Edwards led Team USA to another title! The Americans won the 2025 FIBA 3×3 Nations League Americas Conference in Chile. Edwards was the team’s leading scorer with 7.9 points per game. She has won a title every time she has put on a USA Basketball uniform in international competition.
