🔺 Out West. South Carolina women’s soccer will play at Wyoming tonight at 6 p.m. on the Mountain West Network. The Gamecocks are coming off a win over Furman, while the Cowgirls look to bounce back from a loss to Weber State.
🔺 High Praise. South Carolina cross country has been selected to finish third overall in the SEC Preseason Poll! The Gamecocks are coming off the best season in program history in which they placed third at the SEC Championship. They went on to finish runner-up at the NCAA Southeast Regional and earn the program’s first team bid into the NCAA Cross Country Championship.
🔺 New Outlook. South Carolina long snapper Gunnar Yocum overcame a rare cancerous tumor discovered during appendicitis treatment in high school. After repeating his sophomore year, he learned long snapping from his father and earned a walk-on spot with the Gamecocks. Yocum, studying sport and entertainment management, aspires to coach football after his playing days.
