Tailgate Talks: Game Week and Dunta Robinson — It’s finally GAME WEEK! The Gamecocks are just days away from kicking off the 2025 season in Atlanta, and like the rest of us, Pat and Stephen are itching to hear some pads pop! A man who knows all about that is none other than this week’s guest, former Gamecock standout, Dunta Robinson. Buckle up the chinstrap for this one!

The Story: Brotherly Love — Just about every team in the country tries to make their locker room feel like a family, but few truly accomplish it. In Columbia, when Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks preach "family," it goes further than a figurative slogan. For the Kilgores and Sellers, bringing their brotherly love to the collegiate level is a dream come true.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 ‘Tis The Season. Gamecock football kicks off this weekend! No. 13 South Carolina will play Virginia Tech on Sunday at 3 p.m. from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The game will be televised on ESPN. Coach Shane Beamer enters his fifth season as South Carolina’s head coach facing his alma mater and a school his father, Frank, remains the all-time winningest coach at.

🎉 Gamecock Tailgate: Tailgate with fellow Gamecock fans at STATS BrewPub, just a half mile from the stadium! The Official Gamecock Tailgate will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. A variety of tickets are available here.

🔺 Drawing Conclusions. The 12th-ranked women’s soccer team took Clemson to a 0-0 draw on the road last night. Gamecock goalie Tina Tsaousis had two saves on the night. The draw is the fourth in a row between the South Carolina and Clemson.

🔺 Tourney Time. If you’re not spending the weekend in Atlanta, spend it at the Carolina Volleyball Center! South Carolina volleyball opens its 52nd season under new head coach Sarah Rumely Noble with the Gamecock Classic this weekend! The Gamecocks will play ETSU tonight at 6 p.m., Campbell tomorrow at 4 p.m., and Clemson on Sunday at 2 p.m. All three games will stream on SEC Network.

🔺 Stone, Sweet Stone. The men’s soccer team is home! They’ll take on USC Upstate tonight at 7 p.m. in the home-opener. The Gamecocks enter the game 1-1, while the Spartans have a 0-1-1 record after one week of play. Fans at home can tune in on ESPN+.

🔺 Meet Day. Gamecock cross country opens the season today at the Covered Bridge Open at Appalachian State. They’ll run at 9:15 this morning in the 5K. The Gamecocks are ranked fifth in the USTFCCCA Southeast Region.
