1-0! The Gamecocks roll into Atlanta and handle the Hokies behind a strong defense, some big plays from the offense, and one massive special teams moment. Todd and Tommy take us through the "Beamer Bowl" win.

🔺 Double Down. Two Gamecocks earned SEC weekly honors! Linebacker Fred Johnson was named the SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week after recording a game-high 10 tackles and an interception. Punt returner Vicari Swain was named the SEC Co-Special Teams Player of the Week after his 80-yard punt return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter to break open the game.

🔺 Senior Celebration. The 12th-ranked women’s soccer team defeated Georgia State 3-0 on Sunday’s Senior Night! Seniors Taylor Bloom and Kinley Brown scored goals in the win, along with junior Cuyler Zulauf. Goalkeeper Maria Kemp had two saved in her first in-game appearance of her career.
🏆 Bloom was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week!

🔺 Back-To-Back. Gamecock cross country won Appalachian State’s Covered Bridge Open for the second-straight year! Teresa Cherotich repeated as individual champion after running a new personal best of 16:52.8, the third-fastest time in program history. Anya Arroyo and Mary Frances Iseman followed her through the finish line. Newcomer Eline Mast placed fifth in her South Carolina debut with her own personal best.

🔺 Sticking Around. Gamecock men’s soccer is back in action tonight when they host FIU at 7 p.m. The Gamecocks are coming off a 2-1 loss to USC Upstate on Friday night. Ethan Ballack scored his first goal of the season in the loss.

🔺 Weekend Rewind. Gamecock volleyball started the season 2-1 at the Gamecock Classic! They recorded 3-0 shutout wins over ETSU and Campbell before falling to Clemson in five sets. Victoria Hill led the Gamecocks with 22 kills over the weekend, while Kimmie Thompson recorded 36 assists. Victoria Harris had 16 digs, while Thompson had 15.

🔺 The Zone. South Carolina and Hendrick Automotive Group announced a multi-year sponsorship of Gamecock Athletics. The partnership includes naming rights to “The Zone” at Williams-Brice Stadium, now the “HendrickCars.com Zone,” and sponsorship of the Salute the Troops game.
