🎥 TAILGATE TALKS
Tailgate Talks. Two of the best quarterbacks to ever come through South Carolina happened to be teammates. It led to some of the best years the program has ever seen. But with only one football to go around, it also produced competition, growth, and maybe a tiny bit of animosity. However, all these years later, Connor Shaw and Stephen Garcia are closer than they’ve ever been. With the help of their favorite fullback, they sit down to talk about those great times as a Gamecock, what life is like now, and everything in between on this episode of Tailgate Talks.
📈 STOCK UP
🔺 That Girl. This week’s SEC Freshman of the Week is our very own Katie Shea Collins! She scored the lone goal in South Carolina’s win over No. 20 Kentucky on Sunday. This is her third SEC award and second-straight Freshman of the Week honor.
🔺 Kings & Queens. The men’s soccer team is back at Stone Stadium tonight! They’ll host Queens University Charlotte at 7 p.m. It’s Mental Health Awareness Night and fans wearing green can purchase $3 tickets at the gate. The Gamecocks rank third in the nation in shot accuracy and scoring average.
🔺 KK For Ray. Gamecock punter Kai Kroeger has been named to this week’s Ray’s 8 list for his performance against Akron. He fired a 75-yard punt, the third-longest in FBS play this season. He averaged 53.2 yards off four punts. He also scored on a two-point conversion!
🔺 Tick Tock. We have a game time! South Carolina football will play No. 6 Ole Miss next Saturday, October 5, at 3:30 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN. The Gamecocks are enjoying a bye week this week in preparation for the next SEC battle. Ole Miss plays Kentucky this weekend.
