South Carolina joined the SEC 35 years ago today!

🔺 Planning Ahead. Starting in 2026, South Carolina will play Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky annually as part of the SEC’s nine-game schedule format. The remaining six conference games will rotate among other SEC schools each year, ensuring every SEC team is played at least once every two years. This new format prioritizes traditional rivalries, geography, and competitive fairness.

🔺 New Era, New League. South Carolina beach volleyball has joined the Big 12 Conference! They’ll join Boise State and Florida State as new members to accompany Arizona, Arizona State, and TCU. The Gamecocks enter the season led by first-year head coach Jose Loiola.

🔺 Battled Hard. Gamecock women’s volleyball battled through long rallies, but came up short as they fell to No. 3 Kentucky 3-0. Nia Hall led the offense with 15 kills, while Alayna Johnson had 13. The Gamecocks had three aces compared to Kentucky’s one. The Gamecocks will play at No. 22 Tennessee on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
