Tailgate Talks: Open Mic Tailgate - It’s a good old-fashioned football tailgate in its truest form. Stephen Garcia and Patrick DiMarco do something they never got to do as athletes: set up the tent, eat, drink, and talk ball with fans. It’s an open-mic edition of Tailgate Talks!

🔺 Tonka For The Trophy. Defensive tackle Tonka Hemingway was named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy! The Campbell Trophy is college football’s premier scholar-athlete award. It recognizes the best football scholar-athlete in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance, and leadership.

🔺 Bring The Noise. The volleyball team starts conference play tonight at 7 p.m. when they host Mississippi State. This is the first national broadcast of the year for the Gamecocks, as the game will air on SEC Network. Both teams are coming off 3-0 wins, Mississippi State’s over Southern Miss and South Carolina’s over Clemson. Gamecock Riley Whitesides was named the SEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

🔺 She’s A Darling. Women’s golfer Hannah Darling was named the SEC Golfer of the Week for the fourth time in her career. She was the runner-up at the Mason Rudolph Championship last week. She leads the conference with a 67.67 scoring average.

🔺 Road Trip. Thursday’s women’s soccer match against No. 9 Mississippi State was cancelled due to the weather, but they’ll be back on the pitch on Sunday! The 23rd-ranked Gamecocks play No. 2 Arkansas at their place on Sunday at 2 p.m. The game will be nationally broadcast on ESPNU.
