Tailgate Talks: Darren Uscher — The Gamecocks get the win in Atlanta to open up the 2025 season! Pat and Stephen break down what they saw and look ahead to the rest of the year. The guys also sit down with one of the many people responsible for the product fans see on the field. In this ever-changing, sometimes complicated world of college football, roster construction is a fascinating piece of the puzzle. Perhaps no one is better equipped to peel back the curtain than South Carolina's Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting, Darren Uscher. The Gamecock graduate joins the tailgate to let us in on how it all works.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Run It. Gamecock cross country’s Teresa Cherotich has been named this week’s SEC Women’s Co-Runner of the Week! She won the Covered Bridge Open on Friday as the Gamecocks secured the win as a team. She ran a new personal best 5K time that was the third-fastest in program history.

🔺 Our State. Gamecock volleyball beat Coastal Carolina 3-2 on the road last night! Alayna Johnson recorded a career-high seven aces in the win. Victoria Hill and Nia Hall had 17 kills each. They’ll hit the road to Tampa, Fl. this weekend.

🔺 Capitol Hill Clash. The 10th-ranked women’s soccer team is headed to the nation’s capital to play at American University today at 1 p.m. The Gamecocks enter the match undefeated with a 5-0-1 record, while American University is 0-4-1. This will be the first matchup between the two in program history.
