🔼 Everything She Wanted It To Be. Zia Cooke’s rookie season is in the books, and the Gamecock superstar sat down with The State to reflect on her first year in the WNBA. Cooke touches on everything from her lifelong dreams coming true to what it was like to play on a roster packed with veterans to how it feels seeing former Gamecocks all over the court.

🔼 Becoming Champions. The WNBA Finals are in full swing with the Las Vegas Aces up 2-1 on the New York Liberty. The next chance for A’ja Wilson and Alaina Coates to win it all comes tonight at 8:00pm ET on ESPN.

🔼 The Anchor. Myles Stute knows a thing or two about playing college hoops in the SEC. The Vanderbilt transfer decided to play in Columbia this season because he wanted an opportunity to suit up for Coach Paris.

“I would say ultimately, it was coach Paris,” Stute said on his decision to transfer. “Not only his vision he had for me but for this team, in general. I really believe in the guys, 1 through 15, and the work we put in each and every day.”

As for what he’s hoping to contribute to the Garnet & Black this season? Stute says his goal is to “be that anchor for us” on both ends of the court.

🔼 Gamecocks In The NFL. That’s a wrap on Week 6 in the NFL; let’s take a look at how our former Gamecocks fared.

Jadeveon Clowney tallied two sacks as the Ravens beat the Titans; Clowney’s 29 QB pressures this season have him tied for seventh-best in the NFL. Zacch Pickens found the stat sheet for the Bears, tallying two tackles with a tackle for a loss, while Ernest Jones continued to be a huge bright spot for the Rams. Jones led the team in tackles for the sixth week in a row, tallying 10 tackles with four solo stops. Jones has the fourth-most tackles in the NFL so far this season. D.J. Wonnum stood out defensively for the Vikings, adding a sack, a tackle for a loss, a pass breakup, and two other stops, and on Monday Night Football, Stephon Gilmore grabbed an interception to seal the win for the Cowboys.
