🔼 Remembering Nikki. Gamecock women’s hoops hosted an exhibition game against Rutgers yesterday in honor of the late Nikki McCray-Penson, who worked as an assistant for both programs. She was on the sidelines for South Carolina’s 2017 national championship before earning a head coaching role at Old Dominion. Before Sunday’s game, Coach Staley, Sania Feagin, and Raven Johnson talked about the legacy Coach McCray-Penson left on South Carolina basketball — and on their lives.

🔼 Tune Up. South Carolina women’s basketball won its exhibition game against Rutgers, 100-55. The Gamecocks started Te-Hina Paopao, Sania Feagin, Bree Hall, Raven Johnson, and Kamilla Cardoso. Cardoso led the way with 17 points, while MiLaysia Fulwiley added 16.

After the game, Fulwiley talked about her first appearance in the Garnet & Black: “It didn’t feel real at first. When I first got in the game and I made my first three I was like ‘Oh my god,’ and the crowd went crazy. It was exciting for me and exciting for my family, so I’m just blessed.”

Watch some of our favorite highlights from the game here, here, here, and here.

🔼 Keep Rolling. That’s a 10-1-5 record for No. 17 South Carolina women’s soccer! The Gamecocks took down Georgia, 4-0, at Stone Stadium on Sunday afternoon in Camryn Dixon’s 100th career game in the Garnet & Black. South Carolina got the scoring opened early in the fourth minute from Gracie Falla, then went into halftime up 2-0. The Gamecocks wasted little time keeping the momentum rolling into the second half, adding their third goal five minutes into the period. Cat Barry closed out the scoring with her ninth goal of the year to give South Carolina the 4-0 win.

South Carolina is back on the pitch on Thursday night on the road against Florida.
