📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Century Club. Two games, two 100-point outings for South Carolina women’s hoops! The Gamecocks followed up their epic Parisian outing with a 114-76 rout of No. 14 Maryland at Colonial Life Arena on Sunday afternoon. Seven different Gamecocks scored in double digits, with Te-Hina Paopao leading the team with 14, Ashlyn Watkins and Chloe Kitts posting 13, and Bree Hall, Kamilla Cardoso, MiLaysia Fulwiley, and Tessa Johnson posting 12.

Oh, and as if that wasn’t enough, the 114-point effort marks the highest point total ever scored by South Carolina against a ranked opponent!

🔼 Forever To Thee. South Carolina women’s basketball hung Tiffany Mitchell’s jersey from the rafters yesterday, immortalizing her historic contributions to the Garnet & Black. Mitchell, a three-time All-American and two-time SEC Player of the Year, helped pilot South Carolina to three SEC regular season titles, two SEC Tournament titles, and the program’s first-ever appearance in the NCAA Final Four.

🔼 Overseas Success. And speaking of women’s basketball, Victaria Saxton had one heck of a game for Royal Castors Braine of Belgium. Our girl posted 15 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.

🔼 For It All. Freshman cross country phenom Judy Kosgei is officially set to run for an individual national championship for South Carolina at the NCAA Championships on Saturday in Charlottesville.

🔼 Quotable Quotes. Here’s a quick round-up of the best things the Gamecocks said after beating Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon:

  • “We knew it was gonna score. We repped it all week. We wanted to get him one since we got Tonka (Hemingway) one the other week, so we want to get Boogie one. I was happy. It was wide open. He made a great catch and had a good celebration.” - Spencer Rattler on his touchdown pass to Boogie Huntley

  • “Really, my mind just went blank. We had second down, third down so we had to be able to convert (it was actually first down). So my mind was just to be able to run through somebody’s face like Coach Mo really teaches us and just be able to finish. They were depending on me, my teammates trusted me with that play and everything, so that was just the biggest thing, being able to finish.” - Mario Anderson on his long touchdown run

  • “It was an A+ game from them. I don’t think we had any sacks, they protected at a high level. They did an outstanding job. So credit to them. They worked their tails off every week. And very unfortunate to have a lot of guys go down in that room. But guys continue to step up and play hard and, and play good. So today was a testament to them. We’re gonna have another challenge next week. We’ll have to be on that same level.” - QB1 on the play of the offensive line

🤔 GAMECOCK TRIVIA

Hauled In. Xavier Legette hit the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the year against Vanderbilt, marking the sixth time in program history a WR has broken 1,000 yards receiving in a single season. Can you name the other times it happened?
