🔼 6-0. Gamecock men’s basketball is 6-0 after taking down Notre Dame, 65-53, as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge last night! South Carolina stormed back from an early deficit to grab control of the game. Meechie Johnson led the way for the Garnet & Black, finishing with 29 points, while B.J. Mack added 17 and Ta’Lon Cooper posted nine.

🔼 For The Ages. With South Carolina women’s hoops’ multiple games in the 100+ point column, it’s only fitting to look back at one of the most dominant wins in program history. As GamecockCentral writes, this 45-year-old game between South Carolina and Wheeling College holds multiple South Carolina records as the Gamecocks beat the Cardinals, 137-34, in January of 1979.

🔼 Gamecocks In The NFL. Here we are again with the NFL’s Week 12 in the books! Here’s how some of our favorite former Gamecocks fared on the gridiron this week: Jadeveon Clowney turned in an inspired performance that led to RGIII calling him one of the best off-season additions in the league this year. Clowney had three tackles, one sack, two QB hurries, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery as the Ravens downed the Chargers on Sunday night.

Stephon Gilmore posted six tackles and a pass defended as the Cowboys beat the Commanders on Thanksgiving, giving Gilmore 40 tackles, two interceptions, and 10 passes defended on the season. Ernest Jones twinned with Gilmore this week, also logging six tackles and a pass defended in the Rams’ win. Javon Kinlaw posted a tackle and a QB hurry as the 49ers beat the Seahawks, while Keisean Nixon had four tackles in Green Bay’s Turkey Day victory over the Lions. Rookie Zacch Pickens found the stat sheet in Chicago’s Monday Night Football win over the Vikings with two tackles, giving him 16 tackles, half a sack, one forced fumble, and one QB hurry during his first season so far. D.J. Wonnum added five tackles and two passes defended to his log this season for the Vikings, and everyone’s favorite human cheat code, Deebo Samuel, caught seven passes for 79 yards and added four rushes for 15 yards and a score for San Francisco.

🔼 Out Of Conference. South Carolina men’s basketball has logged a truly impressive start to the season. Prior to yesterday’s win over Notre Dame, the Gamecocks were ranked No. 68 on kenpom.com.

With seven more non-conference battles to go, 247sports is taking a look at the remaining games on the slate, and what you can expect before the squad’s first SEC battle on January 6.
