Next up for an all-new episode of Gamecock Talk? We’re talking with South Carolina’s kicker, Mitch Jeter, diving deep on how close he is with his family (they’re at every game!), the unbreakable bond the specialists share, and why he’s always on his toes in a Lembo/Beamer special teams unit.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 X Factor. Xavier Legette exploded on Saturday afternoon, with South Carolina’s star receiver hauling in nine catches for 217 yards and two touchdowns. Legette finished the game just 16 yards shy of the single-game receiving yards record in South Carolina history.

On that record? QB1 said: “We'll make up for it these last three."

🔼 Straight Sweep. That’s a Senior Day sweep for Gamecock volleyball! South Carolina downed Ole Miss in straight sets at the Carolina Volleyball Center on Sunday afternoon. Lauren McCutcheon had a team-high 14 kills and Kiune Fletcher added seven blocks and six kills as the Gamecocks grabbed the win.

🔼 Quotable Quotes. All the best things the Gamecocks said after beating Jacksonville State over the weekend:

  • “It means a lot. One of the announcers told me, ‘Hey, you need like 260 to get 10,000 passing yards career’ before the game. I was like, ‘Dang, why’d you have to tell me that.’ I’m proud of myself, but proud of the team for helping me. It’s not just me. Legette made so many big plays, went for 217. The O-line blocked their butts off today; I had all day to throw the ball. We made a lot of big plays, had a lot of explosives, and that makes it easy.” - Spencer Rattler on eclipsing 10,000 yards

  • “That was pretty special. We kind of studied that play a lot during the week. We had seen it before. Back was kind of looking over there so I knew we were about to get wheel route. Threw it. Caught it and just took off. It was kind of a surreal moment. Saw Debo at the end, started celebrating.” - Stone Blanton on his pick-six

  • “We feel real good. Going into these games, we are going to practice hard. Yeah, we were 2-6. These past couple of practices and weeks we have had, we didn’t practice like we were a 2-6 team. Going into these games, we still have a chip on our shoulder that we shouldn’t be 2-6.” - Tonka Hemingway on kicking November off with a win

🤔 GAMECOCK TRIVIA
