🔼 A Top Five Clash. No. 5 Gamecock men’s tennis took down top-ranked Virginia on Sunday afternoon! South Carolina won, 4-3, behind singles wins from Toby Samuel, Casey Hoole, Lucas Andrade da Silva, and Sean Daryabeigi to secure the upset of the top team in the nation. The Gamecocks are back at it at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Columbia this weekend.

🔼 2-0. Meanwhile, South Carolina women’s tennis fared well in its start to the season with sweeps of Coastal Carolina and Presbyterian. South Carolina dropped just one set on the day en route to two dominant wins to start the season 2-0.

🔼 Onward And Upward. The Gamecocks got 18 points from B.J. Mack and shot better than 50% from the field to knock off Arkansas, 77-64, on Saturday. Mack now has three straight games with double-digit scoring, while Zachary Davis made his first start of the season as Myles Stute was sidelined with an injury. Davis added 12 points and four boards, while Ta’Lon Cooper (11) and Collin Murray-Bolyes (11) also cracked the double-figure points mark. South Carolina now sits at 15-3 overall and 3-2 in conference play.

The Gamecocks are back at it in Columbia on Tuesday at 7:00pm ET against Kentucky. Grab your tickets here!

🔼 Global Domination. JaMeesia Ford continued her hot start to her collegiate career at the TRACK @ New Balance Collegiate Showdown in Boston over the weekend. The freshman posted a 51.60 in the 400 meter, which earned her the current World Lead in the 400m. Her time was also good for the No. 1 ranking in NCAA D1 Track & Field this season and is the fourth-best time in South Carolina history in the 400 meter. More results from the weekend here.

🔼 A Senior Splash. South Carolina swimming & diving celebrated Senior Day this weekend with a pair of wins as the women’s squad beat UNC-Asheville and the men’s team beat Duke. Among the highlights for the Gamecocks include the men’s team winning the 200 medley relay, freshman Grace Daniels winning the 1000 free, and MaKayla Ciancanelli posting the best finish of her career in the 200 free. The dual season for the Gamecocks will end on the road at Georgia Tech on Friday.

🔼 Take Care Of The Football. South Carolina’s new running backs coach, Marquel Blackwell, has a clear vision in mind for the room heading into 2024 as he aims to build a “tough, competitive group.”

“Guys that are physical,” Blackwell said of what he looks for in his running backs. “Making one guy miss and big, explosive plays…There are two things that we need to do to be successful. One, we must take care of the football and the next thing, we must take care of the quarterback. We do those two things, we will be fine.”

🔼 Staying Undefeated. No. 1 South Carolina women’s basketball stayed perfect on the season (17-0) and in conference play (5-0) with a strong 99-64 win over Texas A&M on Sunday evening. South Carolina enjoyed a balanced scoring effort with MiLaysia Fulwiley leading the way with 21 points. The Gamecocks got double-digit points from Kamilla Cardoso (17 points, 13 rebounds), Sania Feagin (15 points), Chloe Kitts (13 points), and Te-Hina Paopao (10 points). Cardoso’s double-double marks her fifth double-double in her last six games.
