• Baseball’s Fantastic February: It may have been February, but the bats were hot out of the gate for the Gamecocks as the offense scored 49 runs. It was pitching that stole the show in the second weekend series, holding Penn to just nine runs across all three games. That, plus some clutch home runs and taking care of business in the midweek contests, all added up to a 9-0 start to the 2023 baseball season.

• Our State (Again): After a series-opening loss on the road, the Gamecocks needed two in a row against the Tigers to take the rivalry series. Down by two runs in the seventh in the second game, the bats came alive, and South Carolina never looked back. Enjoy the best atmosphere in baseball during the Palmetto Series matchup as baseball added another point for the Gamecocks last year.

• The Sophomore Core: New additions to the South Carolina baseball team were a big storyline last year, but a huge reason for the team’s early success in 2023 was the sophomore class. Hear how and why last season’s sophomore core hit its stride.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Moving Up. Gamecock men’s basketball is up to No. 11 in both major polls after a perfect week on the court. South Carolina has won seven straight SEC games, the program’s longest conference winning streak since the 1997-98 season. The team is back on the court on Wednesday at Auburn at 8:30pm ET on the SEC Network.

🔼 Rookie Impact. In other Gamecock men’s basketball news, Collin Murray-Boyles earned SEC Freshman of the Week! CMB averaged 23.5 points per game across both of South Carolina’s victories last week with a career-high 31 points against Vanderbilt on Saturday.

🔼 On The Record. South Carolina baseball’s Blake Jackson joined Jack Veltri in an exclusive Garnet Trust interview. Blake, who’s become a TikTok celebrity, talked with Veltri about the upcoming season, his favorite video, and so much more.

🔼 A Different Perspective on Life. Grammy-nominated rapper Plies got a taste of Columbia, South Carolina, and the epicenter of women’s college basketball on Sunday afternoon. Plies took to Twitter after the game to talk about why it was about so much more than a basketball game.
