Changing Expectations: Chapter 4: A New Era -- Caught at a pivotal point in the season, how would Lamont Paris and his team respond after a home loss to Georgia? How about a wire-to-wire win at Arkansas and a clobbering of the #6 Kentucky Wildcats leading to a court storming for the ages? Respect 'em or don't, but either way, this team isn't going anywhere. It's a new era of South Carolina basketball.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 20-0. No. 1 Gamecock women’s hoops is now 20-0 after beating Auburn, 76-54, on the road last night. MiLaysia Fulwiley led South Carolina with 15 points, while Ashlyn Watkins (14), Kamilla Cardoso (13), and Raven Johnson (10) all hit double-digit points.

The squad is back on the court on Sunday, February 4, at 2:00pm ET against Ole Miss at Colonial Life Arena. Grab your tickets here!

🔼 Academic Success. More than 1,200 student-athletes landed on the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll for 2023 - including 115 Gamecocks! South Carolina had the third-most honor roll recipients in the conference.

🔼 Rookie At The Ready. Another day, another Gamecock earning conference honors! Men’s tennis’ Jelani Sarr earned SEC Co-Freshman of the Week after South Carolina beat Clemson and LSU last week. Sarr is 14-7 in singles and has posted five ranked wins during his freshman season. The Gamecocks are back on the court this afternoon against NC State at the Carolina Indoor Tennis Center. Admission and parking is free - see you there!

🔼 Stay Humble. Spencer Rattler is spending the week in Mobile, Alabama at the Senior Bowl, and while there, he’s reflecting on what advice he’d give to his 17-year-old self.

“I would definitely tell a 17-year-old me to stay as humble as you possibly can,” Rattler said. “Because when you have a lot of success at a young age, I’ve been through it, you think you’re hot stuff. Then you realize you gotta restart in college and then obviously at the next level you have to restart all over again. Just remaining humble. I’ve always been a humble person but really being exact with that and precise and just carrying yourself in a certain manner.”
