🔼 Hot Take. One NFL executive told Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer that there’s a sleeper at quarterback to watch at the NFL Combine this week:

“My hot take is that Spencer Rattler is better than Bo Nix and (Michael) Penix. And I know other people who feel the same way,” the executive said.

Hot off a standout performance at the Senior Bowl, Rattler is in Indianapolis this week at the NFL Combine looking to keep climbing up NFL draft boards. QBs will take the field for drills at the combine on Saturday afternoon live on the NFL Network.

🔼 Midweek Winners. That’s another mark in the W column for Gamecock baseball after the squad beat Gardner-Webb, 7-1, yesterday at Founders Park. Gavin Casas brought the offensive firepower, crushing a 429-foot three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to give the Gamecocks a 6-1 lead. Ethan Petry and Parker Noland each added RBIs on the afternoon as South Carolina climbed to 8-1 on the season.

Next up is Rivalry Weekend as the Gamecocks take on the Tigers in a three-game series that gets underway Friday evening in Columbia at 7:00pm ET. Grab your tickets here.

🔼 Fashion Week. Gamecock women’s soccer’s Dru Drake took a break from the pitch to hit the runway at New York Fashion Week! Check out her behind-the-scenes look at her Fashion Week experience, then enjoy this in-depth profile to see what her trip to New York was really like.

🔼 Congrats, Coach! South Carolina women’s soccer head coach Shelley Smith is heading to the Vermont Principals’ Association Hall of Fame! Smith, who earned three state championships at Mount Anthony Union High School, started for four years for the University of Vermont Catamounts. As a head coach in South Carolina, she’s led her teams to 17 NCAA tournament berths with a 2017 appearance in the College Cup.

🔼 Family Time. What was one driving factor in Shawn Elliott’s decision to come home to Columbia? His family. While Elliott coached in Georgia, his family never left South Carolina. Now that he’s back in town, Elliott has a clear goal in mind: getting South Carolina football “right where it needs to be.”

🔼 Talked To Dawn Staley. Te-Hina Paopao is draining threes left and right for South Carolina women’s basketball. How did she come to call Columbia home? Find out all that and more when she sits down with the Sometimes I Hoop podcast and talks all things basketball.
