It’s Pro Day for a slew of former Gamecock football standouts! More than a dozen Gamecocks are expected to show off for NFL scouts in Columbia today. On3’s Mike Uva breaks down what the day will look like as our guys highlight what they can do at the next level.

🔼 Time To Dance. Coach Lamont Paris is the SEC Men’s Basketball Coach of the Year! Coach Paris and the squad closed out the regular season with 25 wins — the most in program history — en route to securing the fifth seed in the upcoming SEC Tournament.

Ta’Lon Cooper and Meechie Johnson also earned conference awards, with both landing on the All-SEC Second Team, while Collin Murray-Boyles earned a spot on the All-SEC Freshman Team.

🔼 Keep Moving Forward. Kamilla Cardoso is on the 2024 Women’s National Ballot for the John R. Wooden Award and she’s also a semifinalist for 2024 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year. Cardoso, this season’s SEC Defensive Player of the Year, is South Carolina’s leading scorer and rebounder, and averages close to a double-double with 14 points and 9.5 boards per game.

🔼 Ranking Roundup. The SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament gets underway this week, and the Gamecocks will enter the tournament ranked No. 15 in the AP Poll. It’s the first time since the 1997-98 season that the squad finished the regular season ranked. In a fun historic twist, that 1997-98 squad also finished the regular season at No. 15.

Meanwhile, South Carolina women’s hoops remained the nation’s unanimous No. 1 team after closing out the SEC Tournament with the eighth championship in program history on Sunday.

On the diamond, the Gamecocks cracked the D1 Baseball Top 20. The squad moved up a spot to No. 20 ahead of a new week that’ll see South Carolina play four games away from Founders Park and open conference play in Oxford.

🔼 The Main Thing. MiLaysia Fulwiley became the first freshman in South Carolina women’s basketball history to win SEC Tournament MVP. Markeshia Grant explores what the freshman’s stunning performance in the championship game meant to the team, and what’s next for Gamecock women’s hoops as Selection Sunday inches closer.

🔼 The Hard Fowl. Ta’Lon Cooper sat down with Jack Veltri and Joe Macheca for a Garnet Trust exclusive interview this week. Ta’Lon talks about his decision to transfer to South Carolina, recaps his experience in the Garnet & Black during this magical run, and looks ahead to what’s next as postseason play looms.
