🔼 Fresh Phenom. JaMeesia Ford’s stellar freshman season has earned her recognition as the SEC Women’s Freshman Runner of the Year for the indoor season. The Track & Field superstar is the reigning 200-meter and 4×400 relay SEC Indoor Champion and is the seventh Gamecock in program history to earn the award. Ford and a handful of her fellow Gamecocks will hit the track this weekend in Boston for the NCAA Indoor Championship.

🔼 Moving & Shaking. Xavier Legette turned in a fantastic NFL Combine performance, and the league is taking note. PFF’s Trevor Sikkema took a look at the biggest movers after the Combine, and on Legette, he noted:

"Legette was one of the biggest risers during the season this year, as he went from being an afterthought in South Carolina’s passing attack to the guy the Gamecocks built their passing game around…His combine testing reaffirmed his exceptional athleticism at 221 pounds, as he posted a 4.39-second 40-yard dash and 40-inch vertical.”

🔼 Rain, rain, go away. Softball fans, if you were hoping to see yesterday afternoon’s clash with USC Upstate, we have good news - the postponed game has been rescheduled to May 1 at 6:00pm ET!

🔼 To The Finals. Six Gamecock swimmers are ready to hit the water at the women’s NCAA Swim & Dive Championships. Jordan Agliano, Nicholle Toh, Bella Pantano, Meaghan Harnish, Greta Pelzek, and Amy Riordan all posted individual qualifying times and will compete in Georgia from March 20-23. Meanwhile, Gamecock divers are gearing up for qualifiers this weekend in Athens.

🔼 Midweek Win. It was a rainy afternoon at Founders Park, but the Gamecocks picked up the win in a weather-shortened game yesterday. South Carolina baseball beat Davidson, 4-1, allowing just two hits and striking out 11. Tyler Pitzer, the game’s winning pitcher, fanned five in 3.1 innings of work, while Ty Good secured his first save of the season with four strikeouts in 1.2 innings.

As a whole, South Carolina’s pitching staff’s ERA this season now sits a 2.38, while Dylan Brewer leads the squad with 19 hits this season to compliment a .452 batting average.
