The Follow Season 2 Episode 3: Getting to the postseason takes everybody on the roster, and that means everything from veteran leadership to a freshman stepping up in big moments. Parker Noland and Tyler Pitzer found themselves square in the middle of huge spots when No. 3 Vanderbilt came to town with one facing his former team and the other getting his first-ever collegiate start to go for the sweep. With the Commodores in Columbia, the rookie and the vet took center stage.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Season Countdown. With Gamecock women’s hoops’ championship season officially over, it’s time to look back at the best moments that fueled a team to perfection. GamecockCentral’s Chris Wellbaum recapped his Top 12 moments from South Carolina’s historic season. What are yours?

🔼 Moving On. Gamecock women’s golf is on to match play as the No. 1 seed at the SEC Golf Championship! South Carolina was the only team in the field to finish under par, posting three under. The squad will be back on the green during match play today.

🔼 In The Books. Over the weekend, South Carolina women’s tennis’ Sarah Hamner cemented her spot in the Gamecock history books. Hamner became the winningest player in SEC matches in program history with a victory over Florida’s Sara Dahlstrom. Hamner now has a 10-1 mark in SEC matches this season, besting the previous record of nine wins, set twice by fellow teammate Ayana Akli, and four other Gamecocks.

🔼 Pedal To The Floor. While college sports has changed a lot since Shawn Elliott’s first time around with the Gamecocks, South Carolina’s run game coordinator/tight ends coach has no plans to change his style:

“I’m a pedal-to-the-floor kind of guy,” said Elliott. “I’ve always used the term, especially when this transfer portal kind of got going. Never let a player hold you hostage. I wasn’t gonna change my coaching style because I may hurt their feelings…If I were to change I would need to get out of this business. I would need to go and, I don’t know, become a librarian or something because that’s just not who I am.”

Elliott’s former players, including all-time South Carolina great Marcus Lattimore, love it:

“He loves the game of football and always challenges you to become better. The game against Navy in 2011 when I ran for almost 250 yards he said that I should have had 350 and he was right. I missed a few reads and got tripped up multiple times. He called me out. He will push our guys over their limits with love and bring out the best in players.”

🔼 Streak Snappers. South Carolina baseball picked up the series victory over Florida, winning two out of three games this weekend to snap Florida’s 15-series home winning streak that dated all the way back to 2022.

South Carolina posted a dominating 10-3 win on Friday night against the 24th-ranked Gators before winning again, 9-8, on Saturday afternoon.

During Friday’s win, Eli Jones pitched six frames with six strikeouts, five hits, and one run, while Chris Veach nabbed the save with two hitless innings. Cole Messina paved the way for the Gamecock offense with three hits, while a barrage of Gamecocks all had a multi-hit game: Parker Noland, Talmadge LeCroy, Gavin Casas, and Will Tippett.

On Saturday afternoon, South Carolina got homers from Dalton Reeves and Ethan Petry and a win from Roman Kimball on the mound to grab the one-run win and clinch the series.

The Gamecocks are back on the diamond tomorrow against The Citadel.
