🔼 Dreams Coming True. The NFL Draft starts tomorrow night, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for our Gamecocks! ESPN’s Jordan Reid posted his final mock draft and he’s projecting Xavier Legette stays close to home as the 39th overall pick of the Carolina Panthers. A round later, Reid slots Spencer Rattler to the Los Angeles Rams 83rd overall.

🔼 Be Fast, Strong, & Physical. Speaking of the draft, Xavier Legette sat down for an exclusive conversation with The Draft Network. Legette talked about his 4.39 40 at the NFL Combine, his physicality, and the 14 pre-draft visits he’s had.

With all the excitement leading up to the draft, Legette discussed what’s been his favorite part so far:

“That was probably the best part, going to different cities and seeing what their towns look like. I loved every single one of them. I enjoyed getting a feel for those different places just in case I end up getting drafted there,” he said.

🔼 A Champion. What’s it like to be a national champion now that it’s had some time to sink in? Freshman Tessa Johnson looks back on winning a championship and talks about the support she’s had from her community on her journey.

🔼 Award Season. Postseason conference awards are in for Beach Volleyball, and we have a long list of honored Gamecocks! Skylar Allen earned CCSA Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while Julia Waugh took home Freshman of the Year honors. Allen and Allison Coens both landed on the All-Conference Team, while Waugh claimed a spot on the All-Freshman Team. Allen, Coens, Jolie Cranford, and Hannah Mackenhausen rounded out the honors on the All-Academic Team.

The CCSA tournament runs from April 26-27 in Alabama with the Gamecocks as the fourth seed.

🔼 In The Classroom. In more award news, women’s tennis’ Ayana Akli and football’s Kai Kroeger have been nominated for the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship. The scholarship is given annually to the top male and female scholar-athletes in the conference.

🔼 Tee Off. South Carolina men’s golf is ready to get started at the SEC Championship in Georgia today. The Gamecocks are looking for a spot in match play for the fourth time in seven seasons of the new format.

Bo Carpenter tees off first for the Garnet & Black at 9:40 am ET, and the Gamecocks are paired with Kentucky for the tourney’s first 18 holes.
