🔼 Teeing Off For A Title. The championship path is set, and South Carolina women’s golf earned its fourth-straight No. 1 seed in the NCAA Regionals. The Gamecocks will tee off at the Auburn Regional from May 6-8, marking the program’s 25th straight appearance in the NCAA Regionals.

Regional play involves 54 holes of stroke play; the top five teams and top individual from non-advancing teams will head to the NCAA Championship.

Meanwhile, Junior All-American golfers Hannah Darling and Louise Rydqvist are off to the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup! Darling and Rydqvist will compete for Team International when the event tees off in Ireland on July 5.

🔼 Everything We Want. DQ Smith has made big waves this offseason, earning the team’s spring MVP awards for both defense and special teams.

“It’s just he’s everything that we want in this program,” Coach Beamer said. “He’s humble. He’s hardworking. He’s steady. He’s consistent.”

Smith has 22 starts over the last two years, posting 73 tackles during his sophomore campaign, good for third overall on the team. Smith also tallied half a sack, one pick, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, 1.5 tackles for loss, and two passes broken up last season.

🔼 Keep Watch. South Carolina baseball’s Garrett Gainey is on the NCBWA Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List! Gainey has an impressive resume through the first half of the 2024 season; he’s tied for the SEC lead with six saves and has struck out 36 batters in 25 innings.

🔼 Conference Best. Gamecock women’s tennis’ Ayana Akli and Sarah Hamner are All-SEC! The dynamic pair both landed on the All-SEC First Team this week. Next up for South Carolina women’s tennis is the NCAA Selection Show on April 29.

🔼 Coming Home. Jordan Butler is heading back to South Carolina. The Greenville native signed his National Letter of Intent to play for South Carolina men’s basketball after spending his freshman season at Missouri.

🔼 First Pitch. South Carolina Athletics will honor Lindell Bradley, the first African-American student-athlete in school history, at this weekend’s baseball Alumni Weekend festivities at Founders Park. Bradley, who suited up for the 1968 freshman baseball team and the 1969 varsity team, will throw out the first pitch before Sunday’s game.
