🔼 Movin’ Up. Gamecock baseball is moving up in the polls after taking the weekend series against then-No. 4 Kentucky. South Carolina is up to No. 15 in the D1 Baseball Top 25 and No. 18 in the Baseball America poll.

The Gamecocks have a midweek clash against East Tennessee State on Wednesday before taking on Missouri in a three-game road series this weekend with the first pitch slated for Friday at 7:00pm ET.

🔼 A Lot Better. The Indiana Fever opened training camp on Sunday and Aliyah Boston, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year, is ready to step up into a bigger leadership role this season. Boston said she’s stronger heading into a new season than she was last year, and we can’t wait to see how that translates onto the court.

“To be able to come in my second year and be able to hold off (defenders) a little bit longer, be able to finish through contact a little bit better than I did my rookie season, that’s a lot better,” Boston said.

🔼 Coming Home. South Carolina officially announced the addition of Alabama grad transfer Nick Pringle to the men’s basketball program. The Seabrook, South Carolina native played in 34 games for the Crismon Tide and was an integral part of Alabama’s run to the Final Four. He averaged 6.8 points, 5.1 boards, and 0.7 assists per game while leading Alabama last season with a 62.3 field goal percentage and 40 dunks.

🔼 Cap & Gown. Coach Lamont Paris is ready to take a new kind of center stage. The College of Wooster announced that Coach Paris, a ‘96 alumnus, will be the school’s keynote commencement speaker. Paris will speak about the “biggest Wooster takeaways that have made him one of the top college basketball coaches in the country.”

🔼 Tee Off. Pairings are in for the 17th Annual Southern Company Peach Bowl Challenge. The charity golf tournament pits current and former college coaches against each other as they compete for a $300,000 charitable prize. Coach Beamer will team up with Houston Nutt as the two compete for The Beamer Family Foundation and the Chickasaw Foundation. More details here.

🔼 Big Dreams. We’ve got a few more NFL notes as our Gamecocks work to make their next-level dreams come true. Edge rusher Tyreek Johnson signed with the New York Jets as an UDFA, while Jordan Strachan earned invitations to rookie mini camps with the Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs. Dakereon Joyner also earned a second rookie mini camp invite and will head to Seattle and New Orleans.

🔼 Selected. Selection Monday is in the books, and Gamecock men’s and women’s tennis now knows their championship fate! Gamecock men’s tennis will face off against Old Dominion in the first round in Raleigh, North Carolina. Full bracket here.

On the women’s side, South Carolina will also face off against Old Dominion in Raleigh in Round 1. It’s the 29th straight NCAA Tournament appearance for Gamecock women’s tennis. More details here.
