Good morning. No, it wasn’t a dream. South Carolina women’s basketball capped off a perfect 38-0 season and is bringing the national championship home to Columbia!

A season that started in Paris ended in Cleveland with a national title 🎉

🔼 The Recap: South Carolina women’s basketball defeated Iowa, 87-75, on Sunday afternoon to capture the third championship in program history! Iowa came out of the gate with 10 unanswered points, but the Gamecocks never wavered and battled back to take a 49-46 lead into halftime.

The second half belonged to South Carolina as the Gamecocks came out of the locker room on fire - Chloe Kitts rattled off four straight, then Te-Hina Paopao added a jumper to give South Carolina a quick 55-46 lead. Tessa Johnson led the way for South Carolina with 19 points, while Kamilla Cardoso (15), Paopao (14), and Kitts (11) finished in double-digits. Cardoso and Kitts both put an exclamation point on their seasons with double-doubles to secure the championship. 🏆
