🔼 The Ultimate Goal. Gamecock head coach Shane Beamer recently talked about how rewarding it is to watch his players not only graduate from the University of South Carolina but get opportunities to perform at the next level.

“When you recruit a young man out of high school, that’s the ultimate goal. To graduate, which we’ve had a bunch of guys graduate since I became head coach, but didn’t have a chance to go on to the NFL and play professionally, and it’s really cool to see so many of those guys accomplish the first step of that goal. Then it was pretty cool, too, to be able to just sit down and think back to some of the memories you have of some of those guys, and great moments. There were a lot of special ones.”

🔼 Dawn’s Magic. The WNBA opens its season tonight with an incredible eight Gamecocks on league rosters! That’s good for third most of any program and is one heck of a pipeline running between Columbia and the WNBA.

🔼 Draft Prep. GG Jackson is getting ready for the NBA Draft, and he drew a big crowd at his Pro Day this week. Take a look at how it went!

🔼 Caffeinated And Ready. Gamecock women’s golf starts its NCAA Championship journey today at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale. We know the team is pumped up and ready to go - check out how they earned a pit stop yesterday afternoon! You can follow along with live scoring here.

🔼 Game 1. Don’t forget to tune in to ESPN2 tonight at 7 p.m. ET to watch South Carolina softball take on the NCAA Tournament! The Gamecocks will battle UCF in this evening’s opening round.

And in bonus Gamecock softball news, superstar Donnie Gobourne earned NFCA All-Region Second Team honors this week! The announcement makes Gobourne eligible for the 2023 NFCA D1 All-America teams.

​🔼 Rookie Ready. Coach Beamer and his staff have big plans this summer: Get their freshmen ready!

“Not just at running back, but literally every position this year,” Coach Beamer said of freshmen who will get playing time. “We’re going to have true freshmen that are going to play meaningful snaps for us, so this summer is probably more critical than ever, just because of their development.”

Nine freshmen spent time on campus this spring, including Desmond Umeozulu and spring game standout LaNorris Sellers, and 12 more will head to Columbia this summer, including Nyckoles Harbor and Elijah Caldwell.
