A lifelong Gamecock fan from the Midlands, Dalton Reeves grew up around Founders Park as the little kid asking for autographs. A decade later with two pitstops along the way, he's now living out a childhood dream: not only is he hitting bombs against his former team, he's getting the opportunity to help this Carolina team down the stretch as they prepare for a postseason run. Meanwhile, the always-steady Eli Jones is anchoring a rotation looking to hit their stride as Omaha draws near.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Viva Las Vegas! The defending champs are Vegas-bound! South Carolina women’s basketball kicked off its national championship season in Europe’s City of Lights and will begin its title-defending season in America’s City of Lights. Coach Staley announced the season opener in Vegas in an interview on 107.5 The Game this week:

“We’ll open the season in Vegas playing an opponent that is fluctuating because the opponent we were supposed to play us is not going to play us anymore,” she said. “We’ll play in Vegas. I’ll give our listeners that much. Hopefully, we’ll get a big plane and take some fans and some donors and make it a great trip for everybody.”

🔼 Double The Fun. Gamecock men’s tennis’ Toby Samuel and Casey Hoole earned a doubles at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, while Samuel also earned a bid to the NCAA Singles Tournament where he’ll be the No. 5 overall seed. The singles event gets underway on May 20, while the doubles event begins on May 21 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Ayana Akli and Sarah Hamner are also Stillwater-bound for Gamecock women’s tennis! The dynamic duo will team up for the doubles tournament for the second year in a row, while Akli earned a spot in the singles tournament for the fourth time. Akli’s run to the quarterfinals in the 2023 singles tournament is the farthest a Gamecock has ever gone in women’s tennis program history.

🔼 Tee Off. South Carolina men’s golf is heading to the NCAA Regionals! The Gamecocks earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional, marking the 30th all-time NCAA Regional appearance for the Gamecocks.

Teams will play 54 holes of stroke play at each regional site; the top five teams and top individual on non-advancing teams will move forward to the NCAA Championship. Regional stroke play gets underway on May 13.

🔼 Bee-Lieve It. ICYMI: In a game delayed by a swarm of bees, Christian Walker stung last with his first career walk-off homer in the tenth frame to deliver a 4-3 win for the Diamondbacks over the Dodgers on Tuesday night.

🔼 Fields of Dreams. Wednesday night was good to our Gamecocks on the field!

South Carolina softball continued its recent winning streak over USC Upstate with a 5-0 win yesterday. South Carolina opens a three-game homestand against Missouri on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Gamecock baseball picked up its 30th win of the season with a 15-2 victory over East Tennessee State. South Carolina used power to propel itself to a win in an eight-run fourth inning as Kennedy Jones, Dalton Reeves, and Cole Messia combined to hit 1,170 feet of home runs in the frame. South Carolina is back on the diamond to battle Missouri on the road this weekend starting on Friday.
