The Boys Are Back In Town. Is there a better way to set the tone for your week than with a mic’d-up Stephen Garcia? Yep, it’s as good as you’d expect it to be.

🔼 New Beginnings. Our Gamecocks made their WNBA debuts over the weekend, and what a start to their pro careers it was! Check out some of the best highlights from the rookies and how some of our favorite veteran WNBA players fared over the first weekend of league play:

  • Watch Aliyah Boston’s debut highlight reel as our girl finished her first pro game with 15 points and nine boards. She went ahead and followed up that epic debut with another 15-point effort yesterday while adding four rebounds, two blocks, and two assists.

  • Did you see this and-1 from Zia Cooke with Coach Staley in the building? Zia finished her pro debut with 14 points, two rebounds, and two assists on five-of-six shooting.

  • A’ja Wilson picked up where she left off, tallying her 55th career double-double en route to a 41-point win for the Aces, the largest margin of victory in the history of WNBA season openers.

  • Allisha Gray was named the Dream’s Player of the Game with a 10-point, seven-rebound, and seven-assist effort.

🔼 Baseball’s Best. Cole Messina and Ethan Petry are both semifinalists for the Dick Howser Trophy, given each season to the best player in the nation after two rounds of voting! Petry’s regular season ended with a .379 batting average to go along with 69 RBI, 48 runs scored, 21 homers, and nine doubles, while Messina hit .317 with 62 RBI, 56 runs scored, 17 homers, and 17 doubles.

🔼 On To The Tournament. It’s SEC Tournament time for Gamecock baseball! South Carolina finished the regular season this weekend with 109 home runs on the year. The Gamecocks earned the sixth seed in the conference tournament and will take on the 11th-seeded Georgia Bulldogs at Alabama’s Hoover Met on Tuesday. The first pitch is slated for 10:30 a.m. ET on the SEC Network and the winner faces off against third-seeded LSU on Wednesday morning. Check out the full tournament bracket here.

🔼 Desert Diamonds. Gamecock women’s golf is on to the final round of stroke play today! The top 15 teams in the field advanced to Monday’s competition. You can check live results and tee times for today’s slate here. The team quarterfinals and semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday, with the team championship match on Wednesday.
