The Gamecock Track & Field star is far from her native Turkey, but it’s a journey that was worth taking in her quest to be the best. As Silan gets ready for the NCAA Championships next month in Austin, she’s well on her way to achieving her dreams.

🔼 Road To Omaha. The road to Omaha goes through Founders Park as South Carolina hosts a regional weekend. The Gamecocks will open regional play on Friday at 7 p.m. ET against Central Connecticut State on ESPN+. Earlier in the day, Campbell will battle NC State at 1 p.m. ET on the ACC Network.

A quick hitter on the opponents in South Carolina’s region: Campbell (44-13) is the Big South Tournament champion, while NC State (35-19) went 1-1 in the ACC Tournament. Central Connecticut State (36-12) also won its conference championship, taking the Northeast Conference Tournament title.

🔼 Rookie Impact. Aliyah Boston is already going down in the WNBA record books. Our girl is the first player to start her WNBA career with three straight games with 10 or more points and shooting at least 60% from the field.

Aliyah and the Fever are back on the court tonight at 7 p.m. ET to take on the Connecticut Sun.

🔼 Early Start. And speaking of Aliyah Boston and the WNBA, how are our Gamecocks faring after Week One?

A’ja Wilson continues to crush it with the Las Vegas Aces, averaging 19 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as the Aces are off to a scorching 4-0 start. Tyasha Harris and the Connecticut Sun are off to a 3-1 start, while Allisha Gray has twice earned Atlanta Dream Player of the Game honors as she averages 18.3 points per game.

Tiffany Mitchell is putting up 11.3 points per game for the Minnesota Lynx, and Zia Cooke has been playing strong minutes (15, 14, 23) for the Sparks, and scored 15 points, four points, and seven points in those three outings. Read the rest of the breakdown here.
