South Carolina men’s tennis is finding postseason success once again under head coach Josh Goffi (more on that below)! Gamecocks+ talked to Goffi at the start of last season to deep dive into what he’s built at the University of South Carolina: a special program that’s not just about winning championships, but about building a culture, a family, and a legacy.

🔼 How Sweet It Is. It took almost five hours, but Gamecock men’s tennis is off to the Sweet 16! South Carolina knocked off 14th-ranked NC State, 4-3, in a marathon match to make it back to the Super Regionals for the fourth year in a row.

Doubles duo Toby Samuel and James Story picked up the win before the pairing of Jelani Sarr and Lucas Andrade da Silva clinched an epic come-from-behind victory to give the Gamecocks the doubles point ahead of singles play.

With rain starting to fall, the match moved indoors on a limited number of courts. While NC State took a 2-1 lead early into singles play, Samuel delivered the tying victory before freshman Sean Daryabeigi closed out his match with a win to put South Carolina up 3-2. NC State battled back to tie things up, and all eyes fell to Da Silva as he and his opponent entered a decisive third set. Watch the moment Da Silva delivers the win for South Carolina, sending the Gamecocks on to the next round!

🔼 Rally Cap. Break out your rally caps because South Carolina baseball came from behind on Sunday afternoon to capture the series against Missouri!

South Carolina won Friday’s opening game of the series with a collective 17 strikeouts from the mound and five RBI from Cole Messina in a 10-2 win. Friday night had it all: sharp pitching, hot batting, and a dominant effort from the Garnet & Black. Messina was a one-man highlight reel, while Ty Good picked up the win on the mound with one hit and seven strikeouts in four innings of relief.

During Sunday’s game, South Carolina fell behind early, heading into the top of the seventh down 4-1. A Dalton Reeves homer followed by a two-run shot from Ethan Petry tied the game in the seventh, while South Carolina took the lead for good in the top of the eighth courtesy of an RBI bunt single from Reeves. The Gamecocks went on to plate three that inning for a 7-4 lead and would go on to win 9-4 after a rain delay.

🔼 What’s Your Number? ICYMI: first NFL jersey numbers are in for Xavier Legette and Spencer Rattler. Legette will be easily recognizable on the field as he continues to wear the same No. 17 he wore in the Garnet & Black, while Rattler is shaking things up with No. 18.

🔼 Staying Dominant. Former Gamecock pitcher Jack Mahoney is slaying it for the Fresno Grizzlies. Last month, he earned Minor League Baseball’s California League Pitcher of the Week honors, and over the weekend, he set new career highs, striking out nine batters in 6.1 innings.

🔼 Sophomore Campaign. The Indiana Fever’s first exhibition game is in the books, and our girl shined as bright as she always does. Check out some highlights from Aliyah Boston as the Fever took the court:
