🔼 Conference Clash. Kick-off is set for South Carolina’s SEC opener against Georgia and now ESPN is weighing in on the match-up. In an article previewing the biggest early storylines of the season, ESPN’s Alex Scarborough writes that the clash between the Gamecocks and the Bulldogs has his full attention:

“This will be Georgia’s first real test of the 2023 season…South Carolina has Spencer Rattler back at quarterback and is riding a wave of momentum after beating top-10 teams Tennessee and Clemson.”

🔼 Twice Under The Lights. Mark your calendars because we’ve got more kick-off times! The season will open under the lights at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium as the Gamecocks take on North Carolina. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and the game will be on ABC.

In Week 2, we’ll head under the lights at Willy B for the first time this season! South Carolina will play its home opener against Furman on September 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

🔼 Write The Record. For the first time in Gamecock men’s tennis history, a doubles duo finished the season atop the ITA Rankings! Connor Thomson and Toby Samuel finished the season with a 27-9 record that included wins against 12 ranked opponents with four of those in the Top 10.

🔼 Top 10. PFF’s preseason NFL top cornerback ratings are in, and Jaycee Horn and Stephon Gilmore are representing Gamecock nation! Gilmore checks in at No. 6, with Horn listed at No. 9. South Carolina and Alabama are the only two schools with two cornerbacks in PFF’s Top 10.
