🔼 On Track. The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship is in the books, and the South Carolina women are coming back to Columbia with 10 First Team All-American honors and a 15th overall finish in the team meet — the best finish since 2019. The Gamecocks earned a bronze medal in the 4×100m relay with Jayla Jamison, Cynteria James, Zaya Akins, and JaMeesia Ford becoming the first South Carolina quartet to score in the event since 2009. Other highlights include Ford taking second in the 200m finals with a program-best time of 22.08 and Jamison running the second fastest time in program history at 22.26 to finish fourth. The Gamecocks went on to set another program record in the 4×400m relay with Akins, Sylvia Chelangat, Jamison, and Ford finishing in 3:24.86.

On the men’s side, South Carolina finished the Championship meet with a total of seven All-American honors. On Friday, Anass Essayi and Channing Ferguson added two more All-American nods to the list, with Essayi earning First Team All-American for the second straight year in the 1500m, while Ferguson was named to the Second Team All-American squad in the men’s high jump.
