🔼 Welcome Home. South Carolina announced the addition of three new coaches yesterday!

  • Paul Mainieri is the new man at the helm of South Carolina baseball, becoming the 31st head coach in program history. Mainieri is the active leader in D1 career wins with 1,505 and won the 2009 national championship with LSU. He’s made six appearances at the College World Series in his coaching career, won four SEC championships, six SEC Tournament championships, and 10 NCAA regional championships.

  • Ashley Chastain is the new coach of South Carolina softball! Chastain coached the Charlotte 49ers for the last five seasons, posting a 154-96 record and earning two NCAA postseason berths. Chastain formerly played for South Carolina as a student-athlete.

  • Rob Bradley will pilot Gamecock men’s golf as the program’s new head coach. Bradley comes to Columbia after leading Purdue to nine NCAA regionals and four NCAA Championship appearances in 11 seasons. Last season, the Boilermakers finished third in the Big Ten Championship, second in the NCAA West Lafayette Regional, and earned a berth to the NCAA Championship.

🔼 Preseason Honors. Six Gamecocks earned recognition on Phil Steele’s 2024 Preseason All-SEC teams! Long snapper Hunter Rogers earned first-team honors while running back Rocket Sanders, linebacker Debo Williams, safety Nick Emmanwori, and punter Kai Kroeger landed on the second team. Defensive tackle Tonka Hemingway was named to the fourth team.

🔼 Tee Off. Former South Carolina men’s golfer Keenan Huskey is now in 39th place on the points list for the Korn Ferry Tour after he finished tied for 20th last weekend at the BMW Charity ProAm. The top 30 golfers at the end of the season will earn a spot on next season’s PGA Tour.

🔼 Go For Gold. A’ja Wilson will represent the red, white, and blue at the 2024 Paris Olympics! Wilson and Team USA brought home the gold medal in women’s basketball at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

🔼 All-Region. South Carolina’s Cole Messina and Ethan Petry earned ABCA/Rawlings All-Atlantic Region honors this week. Messina landed on the first team, while Petry was named to the second team.
