Greatest Year Ever. Rookie sensation Ethan Petry gave us a special season on the diamond for the Garnet & Black and he called his freshman year in Columbia the “greatest year of my life.”

🔼 On Par. Three Gamecocks are in the spotlight overseas this week in Prince’s, England as Hannah Darling, Louise Rydqvist, and Mia Sandtorv Lussand take on the Women’s Amateur Championship. It’s one of the biggest stages in women’s amateur golf and you can keep up with live results now through Sunday here.

🔼 Standout Sluggers. Speaking of Ethan Petry having the greatest year of his life, he’s earned more awards for his outstanding performance this season. The NCBWA placed Petry on its First-Team Freshman All-American list after he cemented one of the best rookie seasons in Garnet & Black history with a .376 batting average, 75 RBI, 23 homers, and 10 doubles.

Petry and Cole Messina also earned American Baseball Coaches Association All-Atlantic Region honors this week. Messina capped off a strong season with a .307 batting average, 65 RBI, 17 homers, and 18 doubles in 62 games.

🔼 Getting Ready For Go Time. It’s preseason watch list time and we’re here for anything that makes it feel like football season is getting closer! Six Gamecocks earned a spot on Phil Steele’s 2023 All-America and All-SEC preseason teams. Punter Kai Kroeger and wide receiver Juice Wells both landed on the All-America and All-SEC teams, while Tonka Hemingway, Marcellas Dial, Hunter Rogers, and Xavier Legette all earned All-SEC recognition.
