Lessons Learned. Now that the season has wrapped for Gamecock baseball, Coach Kingston and his crew are reflecting on the year. Coach Kingston couldn’t say enough good things about the life lessons and how his team responded along the way:

“We stuck together through thick and thin and there’s just so much that these guys will be able to take with them for the rest of their lives about lessons, about teamwork, about discipline, about sacrifice.”

Strong leadership helped the Gamecocks through the ups and downs of their season. Watch our behind-the-scenes look featuring Coach Kingston, Jack Mahoney, and Braylen Wimmer diving deep into why leadership and experience were so crucial for South Carolina.

🔼 In The Books. Aliyah Boston made history this week in the WNBA. She became the youngest player at just 21 years and 184 days to post a 20-point, 10-board, 5-assist stat line while hitting 75% of her field goals. She also became the first player in Indiana Fever history to ever do it.

Check out this round-up of the best video highlights, tweets, and comments after Aliyah’s record-setting night:

🔼 SEC Time. South Carolina’s 2024 SEC opponents are unveiled! The Gamecocks will host LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri, and Texas A&M, and will pack their bags to play on the road at Alabama, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Vanderbilt. More details here.

🔼 Standout Sluggers (Again!) More honors are coming in hot for Ethan Petry and Cole Messina! A day after earning ABCA All-Region status, this dynamic duo were both named NCBWA All-Americans, too!

🔼 Shut Down The Bats. Cool stat alert! Gamecock softball wrapped up its season as the only team in all of college softball not to give up an earned postseason run against the national runner-up, Florida State.

🔼 Bullish On Rattler. College football analyst Greg McElroy says he’s “bullish on Spencer Rattler” heading into the 2023 season. McElroy recently noted on the Always College Football podcast:

“He finished with a flurry. He also has an excellent wide receiver to rely on in Juice Wells who might very well be as good as anybody in the conference at wide receiver. As your dependable, No. 1 guy, he might take the top spot, or at least he’s in the mix amongst the best in the league.”
