🔼 Out West. Four Gamecocks are heading west for the 2024 MLB Draft Combine! Eli Jerzembeck, Eli Jones, Roman Kimball, and Cole Messina will all participate in the event. South Carolina signees Brandon Clarke, Beau Hollins, Carson Messina, and PJ Morlando will also partake. Held from June 18-23 at Phoenix’s Chase Field, the MLB combine features 319 draft-eligible prospects. You can watch the combine on MLB Network starting at 1:00pm ET today.

🔼 Dive In. Gamecock swimmers are entrenched in the U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Check out this recap of how things are shaking out for our Gamecocks through the first three days of trials.

🔼 Go For Gold. South Carolina women’s basketball freshman Joyce Edwards and USA Basketball are at the U18 AmeriCup Tournament in Colombia this week! All games will stream on the FIBA YouTube Channel. Team USA will take the court today at 4:10pm ET against Puerto Rico and tomorrow at 1:40pm ET against Mexico.

🔼 Loyalty Gets Rewarded. Ethan Petry indicates he plans to be back in the Garnet & Black for another season, and he recently talked with GamecockCentral about how the hiring of Paul Mainieri made an impact:

“My personality is loyalty. I don’t want to chase any money or anything, or I mean, try to chase a championship when I can just stick around and be patient,” Petry said. “I believe that something comes good here, and obviously now, we just picked up Paul Mainieri, a Hall of Fame head coach and the most active winning head coach in college baseball. So I feel like loyalty gets rewarded, and I feel like that rewarded me right there.”
