It's only June, but it's already been an extremely busy summer for South Carolina Athletics. It's been a month of new faces as the Gamecocks have hired four new head coaches to lead their respective programs. The combined resumes include multiple national championships, and a pair of coaches making a return to Columbia. On this edition of The CockTale Hour, we'll take a look at the additions of Paul Mainieri, Ashley Chastain, Carol Gwin, and Rob Bradley.

🔼 Got The Gold. South Carolina women’s basketball incoming freshman Joyce Edwards and Team USA are bringing home the gold at the 2024 FIBA U18 Women’s AmeriCup! Edwards led Team USA with 14.2 points per game en route to being named Tournament MVP. The US defeated Canada, 80-69, in the title game.

🔼 Tee Off. The R&A Women’s Amateur Championship tees off in Ireland this week, and four different Gamecocks will represent on the international scene. Louise Rydqvist, Hannah Darling, Mia Sandtorv Lussand, and Maylis Lamoure will all take to the greens to compete. Follow along here.

🔼 Self-Care Routine. Look out, football fans, Xavier Legette’s got a new gig! The Panthers’ first-round draft pick hit the streets to talk to the people of Charlotte about Cetaphil and his skincare routine.

🔼 The Sky’s The Limit. Speaking of Legette, fellow Panthers receiver Adam Thielen sees nothing but potential in his rookie teammate: “His ability to have that size and length, and then, pair that with speed and movement and the way that he attacks the football, you don’t find those guys everywhere. There’s not a guy like that in every draft, there’s not a guy like that on every team. I think the potential is, the sky’s the limit for him. I’m excited to be around him.

🤔 GAMECOCK TRIVIA

Zoom, Zoom. Do you remember that time Xavier Legette turned on the jets in Week 3 last year? When Legette opened the scoring during the first quarter against Mississippi State, he recorded the fastest time in football at that point in the season across both college and the NFL. What top speed did he hit?
