🔼 Game Times Set. Mark your calendars because your weekend plans are locked in as the NCAA announced game times for this weekend’s Super Regionals. South Carolina will take on Florida in Gainesville beginning Friday night at 6 p.m. ET, then at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday. Sunday’s Game 3 start time will be announced later if necessary. If you’re not making the trip down to Florida, you can catch the first two games of the Super Regionals on ESPN2.
🔼 Next Stop: New Jersey. It’s a lifelong dream come true for former Gamecock pitcher John Gilreath! Gilreath, who finished his fifth season in Columbia in 2022, inked a deal with the MLB Draft League’s Trenton Thunder and will head to New Jersey in July to get started.
“It’s just an awesome feeling to have my work and perseverance pay off,” Gilreath said. “I’m ready to go make Gamecock fans proud in New Jersey.”
🔼 All-American Status. Toby Samuel, Connor Thomson, Sarah Hamner, and Ayana Akli put bows on their incredible seasons on the court with ITA All-American honors! Akli earned her first career All-American recognition and she did it for both singles and doubles play, while Hamner earned the honor in doubles.
Thomson and Samuel also earned doubles All-American honors for their work together, finishing the season as the top-ranked doubles duo in men’s tennis. Thomson and Samuel also both earned their first-ever career singles All-American honors.
🔼 Best There Is. Coach Josh Goffi is your Wilson/ITA Coach of the Year for the Carolina Region! It’s the third straight year that Coach Goffi has earned the award and the fourth overall honor of his career. Goffi piloted Gamecock men’s tennis to an incredible 22-7 season with five wins over opponents ranked in the Top 10. South Carolina’s run to the quarterfinals marked the best finish for the program since 1989.
