🔼 Dine On That. What does Paul Finebaum think about South Carolina as the fall gets closer?

“I don’t think there’s a person listening who doubts right now that Shane Beamer has this program rolling…from a momentum standpoint,” Finebaum said. “And that’s as important as a final season record. Because he did something that nobody had done in so long.

Beating Clemson at the end of the year, Shane Beamer can dine on that one for a long time.”

🔼 Out Of The Park. New South Carolina baseball assistant coach Joey Holcomb has his own approach when it comes to coaching hitters. So what’s his philosophy for the Gamecock bats next season?

“I think it’s important to have a lineup of physical athletic players,” he said. “You’re not going to be able to stand up there and hit singles and doubles and score a bunch of runs. You’re going to have to rely on being able to hit the ball out of the park and have that three-run home run that’s the difference in the game, or even be able to do short game start type stuff to be able to get guys off the mound, make them field their position.”

🔼 To The City of Angels. We’ve got another Gamecock heading to the big leagues! Will McGillis signed a free agent deal with the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday morning. McGillis finished the 2023 season with a .313 batting average, 30 RBI, 29 runs scored, 14 homers, and four doubles.
