🔼 Shrimply The Best. South Carolina baseball’s incoming freshman Ryan Bakes had himself a day for the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp. Bakes went 5-for-5 from the plate with three home runs, six RBIs, and five runs scored as the Pistol Shrimp nabbed the win.

🔼 Tight Together. Spencer Rattler and Gamecock transfer Josh Simon are finding their groove this offseason.

“What comes to mind is Josh Simon,” Rattler said when asked what player has taken his game to new heights during the spring and summer. “He’s been a guy that’s just a freak athlete, a lot of range, can go get the ball. He’s going to be a big-time player for us this year. Other guys (would be) obviously Trey Knox. We’ve been talking about him. Tight end room is amazing right now.”
