Face Time. Today, we’re bringing you the top pieces on Gamecocks+ from the fall edition of our Face-to-Face series as we sit down with those who wear the Garnet & Black and connect you with your favorite Gamecocks to hear their stories and understand their why.

No. 5: Juice Wells: In a household of seven sisters, Juice Wells may not have always had someone to play tackle football with, but he wouldn't change a thing. Hear about life growing up as the man of the house, and his unique path to South Carolina.

No. 4: Debo Williams: Debo talks about his path to South Carolina after originally enrolling at the University of Delaware, and how his role on the defensive has evolved. He also tells us about his passions off the field, including podcasting, and his quest to become a billionaire.

No. 3: Tony Annan: Reflect with head men's soccer coach Tony Annan about how he worked to build a family atmosphere within his program and why he came to Carolina.

No. 2: Spencer Rattler: Spencer Rattler knew he was going to be a play-making quarterback from an early age. He talks about his childhood, how he deals with adversity and criticism, and we get a look back at where the team was at the halfway point of last season. No. 1: Sherrod Greene: Sherrod Greene wrapped up his super-senior season after battling back from consecutive seasons cut short by injuries. Sherrod opens up about adversity he's faced in his life, including losing an older brother when he was a kid, and how his family and faith keep him strong.

🔼 Bullish On The Gamecocks. One SEC Network analyst is betting on Coach Beamer and the Gamecocks. When asked which SEC team is most likely to take a huge step forward this season, Jordan Rodgers tabbed South Carolina. Why?

“Because if Spencer can play the way he did at the end of the year, they can be really tough.”

🔼 Hall Of Fame. Eight new Gamecocks will be inducted into the USC Lettermen’s Hall of Fame as the Class of 2023! South Carolina announced the additions of Allison Brennan (swimming & diving), Ernest Dye (football), Eric Ecker (men’s golf), Shaun Gortman (women’s basketball), Wallie Jones (baseball), Chris Mayotte (men’s tennis), Kim Pietro (softball), and Demetria Washington (women’s track & field). The official induction ceremony will take place on October 14 at the South Carolina-Florida football game.

🔼 Conference Predictions. The PFF preseason All-SEC team is here, and it’s loaded with Garnet & Black! Spencer Rattler landed on the second team with Juice Wells, Nick Emmanwori, and Kai Kroeger, while Tonka Hemingway and Mitch Jeter represent on the third team. Check out the full teams here.

🔼 World Rankings. Toby Samuel keeps crushing it on the court. After grabbing the title at the M25 Nottingham this weekend, Samuel now sits at No. 518 in the world rankings — his career best!

🔼 Welcome Home. Men’s soccer head coach Tony Annan announced Nathan Smith will join the Gamecocks as an assistant coach! Smith brings 20 years of experience to Columbia, from academy director to head coach. Read more about Smith and his work here.

🔼 A Superstar. Donnie Gobourne is your Extra Innings Softball 2023 Breakout Star of the Year! Gobourne, who tallied 125 strikeouts in 123 innings in two D1 seasons, earned the honor “for her achievements in the circle and for her efforts in piloting her team to unexpected heights.”
