🔼 Nothing But Positive. Coach Beamer’s work on the field for South Carolina has spoken for itself as his squad posted back-to-back Top 10 wins to close out the regular season last year. Saturday Down South dives deep into what makes Coach Beamer, well, Coach Beamer…and why he’s so good at proving people wrong.

🔼 Gamecocks In The WNBA. It’s time to check in on some of our favorite former Gamecocks. Allisha Gray’s tear through the WNBA continues as she tied her career-high with 27 points against Washington; she now has back-to-back 25+ point games and has scored at least 25 six times this season.

Aliyah Boston still leads the league in shooting percentage after scoring 9, 12, and 14 points last week, while fellow Fever teammate Victaria Saxton tallied her first points in the WNBA against Seattle. Aliyah had nothing but love for Victaria after she broke into the scoring column.

Meanwhile, A’ja Wilson kept her strong momentum rolling, scoring 24 and 22 points in two games last week.

🔼 Super Standouts. Two incoming South Carolina freshmen are basking in the national spotlight! Softball pitcher Sage Mardjetko earned USA Today National Player of the Year honors for an incredible season that culminated in a 24-strikeout no-hitter in the state championship.

Meanwhile, Brinley Murphy, an incoming freshman on the women’s soccer team, earned USA Today Girls Soccer Player of the Year as she and her team went 24-0 with back-to-back state championships in the midst of a 47-game winning streak.

🔼 Watch List Season. Spencer Rattler and Juice Wells are kicking off Watch List Season for South Carolina! Both offensive dynamos were named to the watch list for the 87th Maxwell Award which is given annually to the College Player of the Year.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: George Rogers; 324 rushing attempts in 1980

That’s one of several rushing records Rogers owns. He’s in second place on the list of most rushing attempts in a season with 311 in 1979, too.

Rogers also owns the top two spots in season-single rushing yards with 1,894 yards on the ground in 1980 and 1,681 yards in 1979.

Have a good Tuesday, y’all.
