🔺 Break It Down. South Carolina football’s first practice is today! The quarterback room looks a lot different with LaNorris Sellers at QB1. The running back corps has been upgraded in experience, depth, and talent with Rocket Sanders coming in. There’s also plenty of new talent at wide receiver. The defensive tackle position may be the most experienced on the field. Read the position-by-position breakdown as they begin fall camp.

🔺 Another Day, Another Dub. The USA women’s basketball team and A’ja Wilson moved to 2-0 after taking down Belgium, 87-74. The former Gamecock recorded another double-double, scoring 23 points with 13 rebounds and three steals. They’ll take on Germany on Sunday at 11:15 a.m.

🔺 Gamecock Quartet. Four former Gamecock track & field athletes will take on the Olympics this weekend! Anass Essayi will represent Morocco in the men’s 1500m at 5:05 a.m. today. Eric Favors will make his Olympic debut for Ireland in the men’s shot put today at 2:10 p.m. Quincy Hall will represent USA in the men’s 400m sprint on Sunday. Aliyah Abrams will make her third-straight Olympic appearance for Guyana in the women’s 400m on Monday.

🔺 Community King. Defensive tackle Alex Huntley has been nominated for the 2024 Allstate Wuerffel Trophy! The trophy is college football’s premier award for community service. He’s a four-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, two-time Spirit Award winner on defense, and a 2023 Rex Enright Team Captain.
