🔼 Back To 1981. The South Carolina-North Carolina rivalry has given us some great moments over the years, from Coach Beamer’s unforgettable mayo bath to a 24-point late-game comeback in 1968. But perhaps no games were as memorable as South Carolina’s 31-13 win over the Tar Heels in 1981, and The State breaks down why in this incredible trip down memory lane.

P.S. Looking for more historic South Carolina-North Carolina content? Join The CockTale Hour tonight for Jay and Bill’s take on the best moments from this Carolina rivalry.

🔼 Could They Wreak Havoc? Which SEC team would benefit the most from a big win in Week 1? For Paul Finebaum, the answer is simple: a South Carolina win over North Carolina could change the landscape of the conference.

“I think it’s South Carolina because they have so many intriguing games,” Finebaum said. “I mean they play Georgia in a couple weeks, they have Clemson at the end of the season, and an impressive performance all of a sudden you have to reboot and you have to start thinking what does this mean? Could they be a player? Could they wreak havoc?”

🔼 To The Court. Former Gamecock women’s tennis standout Ingrid Martins is ready for the US Open this week! You can catch Martins’ match in the doubles main draw tomorrow on ESPN+ at 11 a.m. ET.
