Celebrate Good Times. As we recognize 50 years of women’s sports at South Carolina, relive the 2024 women’s basketball National Championship celebration!

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Survive & Advance. Team USA and former Gamecock A’ja Wilson have moved onto the Olympic quarterfinals! Team USA went undefeated in Group C, taking down Japan, Belgium, and Germany. A’ja Wilson is the only player in the tournament with multiple double-doubles. She’s averaging 20.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, and two blocks per game. Team USA will take on Nigeria tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.

🔺 One More Time. Former Gamecock diver Julia Vincent is gearing up for her third and last Olympic appearance. She has represented South Africa since the 2016 Rio Olympics. At South Carolina, she was a three-time All-American and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in public health. She’ll compete in the three-meter springboard tomorrow at 9 a.m.

“I absolutely loved my time at South Carolina. I learned a lot in the years that I dove there, not only about the sport of diving, but also about myself as a person. I think it prepared me well moving into the next chapter of my career when I headed to Lexington, Kentucky, in 2021 to continue training.”

🔺 Cheers To 50 Years. The 2024-25 academic years marks 50 years of varsity women’s athletics at South Carolina! From the early days of Title IX to 50 years later, women’s sports at South Carolina have combined for seven national championships. Learn more about the last 50 years!
