📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Gold Standard. Former Gamecock Quincy Hall is bringing a gold medal back to the USA! He won the men’s 400m final in comeback fashion. His 43.40 winning time was a personal-best. He is now the first Gamecock to earn gold in the 400m. Check out the race! 

🔺 Comeback Season. Two Gamecock football players were named to the 2024 Comeback Player of the Year Award Watch List! Tight end Brady Hunt and running back Rocket Sanders landed on the list for the award that recognizes college football student-athletes for overcoming injury, illness, or other circumstances.

🔺 Onto The Semis. Team USA and A’ja Wilson took down Nigeria 88-74 in the Olympic quarterfinals! The former Gamecock recorded another double-double, scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. She added two blocked shots and two assists. Team USA advances to the semifinals where they’ll play Australia on Friday.

🔺 Softball, Soccer & Scholars. South Carolina softball had 15 student-athletes earn Easton/NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete honors! This number ties a program record from last season. The Gamecocks have had double-digit honorees for nine-straight seasons. The men’s soccer team also stood out in the classroom. They earned the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches for exemplary performance in the classroom. They finished the academic year with a 3.64 GPA, the No. 3 team GPA in NCAA DI.

🤔 GAMECOCK TRIVIA

The women’s basketball program won 18 games in its first full season of varsity athletics competition, 1974-75.
